About Malaika Kids

Malaika Kids is a children's charity certified by the Tanzanian government and supported by British and Dutch charity volunteers.

The charity takes young children, abandoned or orphaned, usually from the streets of Dar Es Salaam via a halfway house and provides them housing, food, clothing and access to education in the nearby area.

The 80 or so children are from 1 to 18. They are looked after by 'mothers' - women from the local community often also outcast and needing support.

Education is the key.
